We fund: Youth and Education, People in Need, Health and Arts and Culture:
Grant Criteria:
- Grant submittals generally requested in March and awarded in August
Nonprofit organization exempt from federal income tax under section 501(c)(3)
Must serve a population that is at least 70% African American.
Organizations requesting funding of more than 50% of the program operating budget will be required to demonstrate matching funds
Grant recipients will be required to submit an annual summary report
Grant recipients will be encouraged to participate in at least one educational program administered by the San Antonio Area African American Community Fund
What we do not fund:
•Multi-Year funding
•Endowments
•Debt reduction
•Operating deficits
•Indirect costs
•Scholarships for colleges and universities
•Individuals
•Capital campaigns
•Political activities, organizations, or lobbying efforts intended to influence legislation
