Ana Cortez

Ana Cortez was born in Hearne, TX, and began her educational journey in Madisonville, TX, before moving to Mission, TX, in the Rio Grande Valley. Growing up near her grandparents in Mexico, and a migrant farm worker, Ana excelled academically, graduating in the top 10% of her class at a 5A high school with over 950 students. As an honors graduate and co-captain of the Drill Team, Ana earned scholarships that enabled her to attend Indiana University in South Bend, where she was one of only eight students accepted into an elite honors program. Balancing full-time work, rigorous academics, and motherhood, Ana exemplified perseverance and resilience early in her life. In 2000, Ana relocated to Austin, TX, with her young son, where she pursued higher education at Austin Community College while working full-time. At just 21 years old, Ana purchased her first home in Manor, TX, marking the beginning of her lifelong commitment to the Manor community. By 2003, she and her husband had formed a blended family, raising their children in a supportive and nurturing environment. At the age of 23, Ana founded RAM Practice Management, Inc., a medical billing company that has flourished under her leadership. Over the years, her entrepreneurial spirit expanded into real estate investments and ownership of the very first coffee shop in Manor, Zetroc Kaffee. Ana’s four children, who attended Manor ISD schools, inspired her deep involvement in the district. Since 2014, Ana has served as a Trustee for Manor ISD, where her dedication to students and families has shaped her legacy. In 2025, Ana became the President of the Manor ISD Board of Trustees, reflecting her unwavering commitment to public education and her community. Ana’s leadership extends beyond Manor. She serves as the President of the Mexican American School Boards Association (MASBA) since 2021, amplifying the voices of Latino students and families statewide. She is also a Board Member of NALEO (National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials), advocating for equitable representation and policy solutions that empower Latino communities. Additionally, Ana contributes her expertise as Secretary of the Jolt Board, championing civic engagement and voter participation among young Latinos. Ana is not only a public servant but also a proud Manor resident for over two decades. Her life motto, “Con Ana Se Gana” (With Ana, You Win), reflects her dedication to her work, advocacy and as a bilingual realtor with international experience. In recognition of her impact, Ana was named one of Austi’s Fabulous 5 in 2022, and through her entrepreneurial success, advocacy, and dedication to public service, Ana continues to inspire others with her resilience, leadership, and passion for building stronger communities.
