Dr. Travis C. Batts, MD, FACC
Dr. Travis Batts is a board-certified cardiologist with over 20 years of experience specializing in cardiovascular disease prevention, nutrition, and fitness optimization. A former NCAA Division I track and field athlete, he earned his undergraduate degree in biochemistry from the University of Kansas and his medical degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, followed by residency and cardiology fellowship training in San Antonio, Texas. Dr. Batts is a leader in preventive and sports cardiology, with a particular focus on tactical athletes and high-performance populations. He has served as a Medical Director at one of the military’s largest cardiology clinics and has held academic appointments as an Assistant Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine at the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences and Adjunct Assistant Professor at Texas A&M University College of Medicine. A Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, Dr. Batts is an active contributor to the National Nutrition Working Group and has authored multiple publications on plant-based nutrition and cardiovascular health. His clinical and academic work centers on integrating lifestyle medicine with advanced cardiac imaging and value-based care. Beyond clinical practice, Dr. Batts is the owner and creative director of Batts Media Group and the founder of “The Lifestyle MD,” a platform dedicated to empowering individuals and communities to prevent heart disease through intentional living. He is also the host of the About That L.I.F.E. Podcast, where he promotes health literacy, fitness, and longevity. Deeply committed to community impact, Dr. Batts leads several initiatives, including the Healthier Outcomes with Lifestyle Intervention (H.O.L.I.) program, youth STEM engagement efforts, and cardiac emergency response education programs. He actively volunteers with youth sports organizations to promote nutrition, injury prevention, and career development in STEM fields. Dr. Batts serves on the board of Royal Ambassadors Ministries, an international philanthropic health group, and is a member of multiple professional organizations, including the Association of Black Cardiologists (ABC), American College of Cardiology (ACC), American Heart Association (AHA), National Medical Association (NMA), and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.
