George A. Williams, Jr., Ph.D., Our Lady of the Lake University, Interim Provost/ Vice President for Academic Affairs and Vice President for Student Affairs
Dr. George Williams serves as the Interim Provost/ Vice President for Academic Affairs and Vice President for Student Affairs at Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, Texas. Dr. Williams earned his bachelor’s degree from Bethune-Cookman University, master’s degree from the University of South Florida, and a Doctor of Philosophy degree, with distinction, from the University of New Mexico (UNM). Dr. Williams has held positions as a special education teacher and Academic Student Success Manger, Assistant Professor of Education, and Dean of Student Success.
Dr. Williams has presented and served as a guest lecture at the state, regional, national, and international levels addressing topics such as diversity, leadership, and culturally responsive teaching. Among many earned academic accomplishments, such as Teacher of the Year with the School District of Hillsborough County and recipient of the Presidential Luminaria award for diversity. Currently, Dr. Williams serves as the treasurer for the Texas Council for Exceptional Children organization, the chair of the Scholarship Program Committee for the City of San Antonio Dr. MLK, Jr., Commission, and Vice-Chair for the Carver Development Board in San Antonio.
